I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to you for the 2 day session your team held for our Kodak Business Workflow Team. The professionalism of your team, quality of the training materials, and utilization of technology to demonstrate the challenges of running a manufacturing business all contributed to making this one of the most effective and beneficial educational seminars I have ever been involved with.

 

Our team has a special challenge within Kodak. We are developing business workflow (MIS/ERP) software solutions for our customers in the Graphic Arts industry. The nature of these products is such that they span the entire range of front office, back office, and manufacturing processes within our customers' businesses. One of the challenges our team has faced is growing the understanding and domain knowledge within our development team. We have engaged in various internal training initiatives, customer visits, and industry sponsored events to grow this knowledge, but despite these efforts its always been a challenge to present the reality of the day-to-day battles a print manufacturer encounters and how a system like our Kodak Enterprise Management Solution addresses them.

 

In my experience the only way to really appreciate and understand these conditions is to actually have worked closely in these environments for several years. Obviously its not practical for us to place our staff within a printing company for years at a time, so our ability to transfer this knowledge has been limited. The MBE training provided us with a big step forward in this effort and is the best solution I've seen for providing that kind of exposure and understanding.

 

The MBE training and business simulator did a great job of demonstrating the complex interrelations between sales, marketing, production, accounting, purchasing, and inventory management. Although not specifically designed to simulate a printing company, the simulation engine did a remarkably good job supporting the other training materials and discussions. I was quite pleased with the progressive nature of the exercises, this was particularly critical due to the broad spectrum of business experience in our group that ranged from development, QA, applications, and product management staff. Even those employees that had very little real world exposure or understanding were able to learn and grow over the course of the 2 day exercise.

 

I would highly recommend this training to companies looking to either expose their employees to the challenging business dynamics of a manufacturing business or to highlight the critical importance of an integrated business workflow solution in their environment.
